In 1967, I was on my way to Las Vegas, knowing nothing about car rentals in the city, but with a pension for playing Russian Roulette. On that trip to Las Vegas, I lost big money betting on red, as black came up eight times in a row! The next time I was in Las Vegas, I stopped betting on red, and I also learned how to rent a car in this fabulous city! The year was 1980, and I got a package deal that included an Alamo Rent-a-Car–the package included air travel, hotel, and car rental. In the 1990s, the company that I had been using for my trips toLas Vegas renamed themselves Fun Jet Vacations, and this was when I really started to learn how to get the best deal for my money regardingLas Vegas car rentals.
At this time, I rented a car to get around the city, and noticed that I was one of the only people doing this! Because most people had hired charters, which included a complementary taxi service or limo, to get into the city, they did not think they needed rental cars. But the business of renting cars inLas Vegas was booming in the 1990s, and renting a car allowed me to view the city in a much better light! Finding a rental car in Las Vegas is easy and convenient, and it allows you more freedom to see the marvelous city.
In fact, car rentals in Las Vegas are even cheaper today than they where when I first tried renting, but at least I know now to bet on car rentals rather than Roulette!
